3 Mizell Girls

Monday, June 9, 2014

Growing up, my family was filled with many, many cousins. My first cousins have always been exceptionally close to us, especially since so many of us would be born in within a few months from each other. But there was always a kind of... Running kick, I guess? Nearly all of them were boys, to the point that is became a little weird.

Males- Chris, Blake, Austin, Dylan, Logan, Acey, Lane, Gage, Cody, Granger, Hunter, Will, Walker, Jon, Cole, Jack, Kellan
Females- Myself, Listi and Hillary.

Outrageously outnumbered, right? Sure we have picked up a few girl cousins along the way (all eyes on our little Megan and Sophia!), but technically speaking, we haven't had a girl birthed into either side of the family since 1995. So there we were, the three Mizell girls.

Listi and Hillary are the remainder of the female Mizell's. They are vastly different, yet only 3 months apart. Last year they graduated from our county's high school, to my amazement, and since have undergone exciting times. Hillary will be wed this month and is expecting a baby in December. This past Saturday morning we attended a shower in her honor, as we hugged I felt overwhelmed by how much she will change in a few months time- a wife and a mother, two of the most amazing roles. I am so happy for her, I pray her marriage will be filled with everything she hoped for, and I know that our baby (yes, our, don't judge me) will be. On the flip side, Listi, as previously mentioned, decided to serve a mission. Later on Saturday evening we gathered for a party in her honor, as she read the letter that announced she would be leaving for Tucson, Arizona in August! I am so proud, thrilled and ecstatic because I know she will love it there; she is going to be a wonderful asset to that mission, though I don't envy her companions ;) I plan to share more about this later.
The 3 of us are all going in vastly different directions... The 3 Mizell girls will soon be down to a single 1, and she won't even be around for 18 months. The older everyone gets the harder it is for me to believe how quick time passes. But I am so pleased with my family also, Heavenly Father has truly blessed me, my cup runneth over.
