2015's Farewell

Thursday, December 31, 2015

    This past year we:

Went on our first cruise to the Bahamas for G's 28th,
I went on a girls trip to Charleston,
Welcomed our beloved niece into the family,
Celebrated 2 years of marriage in Atlanta,
Graham started his Master's program,
We told our story of Infertility,
We renewed our Disney Passes and went once a month,
We stayed in Milledgeville for a long weekend with friends,
We began going to a fertility specialist,
I went cruising with some family to celebrate Acey's graduation,
I began watching Echo,
We flew to Utah for a wedding and visited 3 national/state parks,
I cut my own hair (again),
We stayed at the beach with my family in St. Augustine,
I was extended a calling as Second Counselor in YW (again),
We visited Chicago with Graham's family,
We sent Acey on a mission and welcomed him back home soon after,
Celebrated at Disney for my 24th,
Went to 3 concerts,
I fought through depression,
Graham maintained a 4.0,
We rented a cabin in the Smokies,
We grew exponentially in certain ways.

2015! I can't say I'm not glad to see it go. This year has included lots of staying elsewhere to get away from home and the sadness I find there. There have been some joyous times in between the crummy. When I look at it in a grander scheme I realize it hasn't been a "bad year." But still, I won't miss it. I'm ready for 2016. I'm making a few resolutions or commitments but those are just for me. I've got to learn to keep more things private ;) Ok.... so I guess technically you all know at least thing I'm working towards. But don't hold me to it please, cause y'all know I'm hard headed and can barely keep my head above water- let alone not talk about it. And with that- farewell until next year!

2014's farewell.

Does the title look familiar? I used the same for 2013! Yeah well, I guess it may just become an annual thing. This year... I can scarcely believe it's nearly done, didn't it just start?

In 2014 Graham and I: went zipling,
threw Graham a surprise birthday party,
Graham was given a permanent position at Merrill Lynch,
went on our first plane trip to Arizona together,
took my siblings to Miami/ Ft Laud,
celebrated our first anniversary,
flew to Washington DC,
found out Listi was serving a mission,
celebrated multiple weddings,
Graham was called to be the Elder's Qorum Pres,
relived my childhood by vacationing in Fernandina,
learned we would become an Aunt& Uncle,
I joined Mama in taking Listi to the Provo,UT MTC,
I was called to be a counselor in Young Women
we visited Disney 10 times before our season passes expired,
traveled to the Keys with friends, snorkeled on said Keys,
visited Graham's personal utopia up on the Blue Ridge Parkway,
I quit my job to focus on school, we welcomed many babies,
we lost a special Grandma and another great friend,
we survived our first international trip in Italy and
we've had the best year yet.

The following is a quick picture recap of this past year.

Our family has been blessed, our own small one and our extended ones, I am so grateful for that! Every year I can't help but marvel and think: Wow! What a year! We've grew so much, we've traveled more than I thought possible and I love Graham more now than ever.& I truly, truly adore our teeny, small, 2 person family- we're all we've got and I have cherished our first full year from start to finish together. I am so often reminded that he is the one for me.
I have a few goals for 2015- finish my Bachelor's degree, fulfill my calling to the highest extent, do laundry quicker, gossip less, find peace with all that irks me and bring more joy to those who surround me. I hope to do all of those things, but I know if I can just learn a little bit more and do a little bit better, I'll be alright.
Thanks so much to everyone who helped make this year better. I'm engulfed in gratitude.

2013's farewell.

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Wow. Christmas is over, my two week hiatus from work is nearly over and we begin a new year tomorrow. Everything about this year has completely whizzed by. Crazy, huh?

2013.

That should be a sentence enough to suffice. Without question, this has been the best year of my life. You guys know the big changes: I planned my wedding, kissed my family goodbye, married my sweetheart, moved into another state, began a fun nannying position, picked up a traveling bug, and finally became confident that I have truly reached "Adulthood".
I am grateful for all that I have, all that I have been through, all that I have yet to experience. Sometimes I worry that I sound like a broken record typing that same phrase onto this blog- but I can't help it. I have so much, sometimes I feel so utterly undeserving of it, so I must express my gratitude. Also, I have read other bloggers who say they don't write about spiritual matters because that isn't the direction they want their blog to go... Well, I must say that my blog is a reflection of who I am- it contains my thoughts, my allegiances, my hardships, my relationships- everything that I feel prompted to write. So I will continue to put all of who I am on this blog, with the hopes that others will appreciate them. :)

As Graham and I resolve to make New Year's Resolutions, I am stuck reliving this past year. In honor of that, I have created a super quick collage of the past year, with the link below. This has been my year in a nutshell, and the song lyrics that share the exact message I hoped.

I love each of you so much. Thanks for continuing to read and offer encouragement. Happy New Year!
